Thank you for bowling with us! We appreciate your business and are pleased to host leagues and tournaments for you on a weekly basis. However, we do have some rules that in the past have not been strictly enforced or maybe not enforced at all and we are correcting this for the 2014-2015 season. These rules exist for our protection, the protection of the property, and for the safety of every bowler. Therefore, we feel that it is in the mutual interests of Riverside Lanes Ownership, Staff, the Danville USBC, and all of our bowlers to help in making sure these rules are followed. Please report violators to a Riverside Lanes Staff Member or to a USBC Official, or both.
Absolutely NO Food or Drink shall be brought into the Center without the consent of Riverside Lanes Ownership and/or Management.
No Personal Checks will be accepted, either for league, tournament, or open bowling purchases. We simply do not accept personal checks.
Please do not LOFT, TOSS, or THROW the bowling ball. ROLL IT. If the bowling ball gains in height after leaving your hand or bounces when it first contacts the lane- you are doing it wrong. *
Absolutely NO substances of any kind may be applied to your bowling ball or your bowling shoes. Before you bowl, please inspect your shoes to make sure they are clean so that the approaches also remain clean.**
Please do not clean your bowling ball on our couches, on our counters, or on our tables. You may clean you bowling bowl at one of the two cleaning stations setup by the Danville USBC behind lanes 9/10 and lanes 31/32, or you can leave your bowling ball with Barry in the Pro Shop for him to clean, or you may clean your bowling ball in the method of your choice at home.***
These RULES will be enforced with a 3 Strike approach. A person found to be violating one of them will be asked to stop. A second infraction will lead to that person being asked to stop bowling for the day. A third infraction will result in the person being asked to stop bowling indefinitely.
*While these lanes are virtually impossible to dent, it is not impossible to damage them on the underside due to vibration and particularly the flexing that occurs when a heavy bowling ball is repeatedly impacting them directly over and over. Such as, from lofting the ball or throwing it AT the lane. These lanes are two sided. Every 3-5yrs our lanes will be flipped to the other side. This will help make the lanes last up to twice as long as they otherwise would.
**This is a SAFETY issue. We KNOW that some bowlers put substances (such as baby powder) on the soles of their bowling shoes to help them slide. This will not be tolerated and is actually against USBC Rules. Applying substances to your bowling ball is also unacceptable.
***As many of you have noticed, some of our couches and counters have incurred varying types of damage. Much of this damage has been caused by the repeated use of the harsh chemicals used in cleaning bowling balls. Because there are so many types of cleaners out there, and bowlers use a variety of them, there is no sure way for us to know which ones are causing this damage. So, we are asking all of our bowlers to please just clean their bowling balls at home, or at a cleaning station or ask Barry to do it in his Pro Shop.
